Romans  12:2
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].__Amplified

In today's devotion we shall continue with, the conformity of the mind.

3. You Must Understand The Conformity of The Mind
My fellow readers, if we must have a progressive mind. We must begin to war against conformity to the world. We have seen prior to this post, how far the minds of many young girls and ladies have been disfigured due to conformity to the standard of their friends and their environment.

Likewise most men, all in the name of trying to make money and acquire power, have lost vital parts of their minds, conforming, fashioning their minds to an ungodly design of what or how a man should look like. Many minds have lost shape due to constant shaping and reshaping (mending and amending). The reason is because the world is like fashion; it keeps changing, follow it and you will end up nowhere after years; you will definitely be as unstable as fashion.

So for a true personality transformation to occur, the conformity had to be stopped. If the conformity is not stopped then it becomes difficult to renew the mind. There are many church believers that keep struggling to have a renewed mind but cannot see any improvement and are oblivious of the fact that conformity to the world makes the renewing of the mind difficult.

You cannot stop fornication and masturbation as long as you still have nude and pornographic pictures and sexual explicit songs in your rooms, albums and handsets. You have to stop the conformity by first of all discarding those sexual stimulants. You can't be leaving with a guy or a girl who you are not married to and still want to leave a clean moral life; it will make the renewing of your mind very difficult. So also as a young girl or lady, if men are becoming a nuisance to you that you cannot resist them any longer, then stop the conformity of putting on skimpy and seductive dresses. Because your dressing is your first announcer before your inner quality. Watch your dressing. Discard the unnecessary fashion in your wardrobe. Until you stop the conformity your mind is not ready for renewing.

Make up your mind today to deal with the conformity. Stop cutting off the remaining part of your mind all in the name of money, school, work (job), relationships, power, influence, fame, pleasure, fashion, connection etc, where you are trying to fashion yourself to suit their standard. I bring to your mind again, explicitly, God's verdict on conformity:
“And be not conformed to this world:..."_KJV

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs]..."_Amplified.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world..."_NIV

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world..."_NLT

"Do not become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking..."_TMB

Listen to Gods Word today, stop that conformity and start up the renewing of your mind. If you have started it before now then checkmating conformity to various world standards will help place the renewing process on a speed lane. Watch out for the continuation in our next part of this series.
