UNDERSTANDING SIGNS OF GREATNESS PART 6
THE
EXCELLING WORD FOR TODAY
UNDERSTANDING SIGNS OF GREATNESS PART 6
1 Samuel 10:9
And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from
Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
King Saul of the bible days was a very timid fellow, a shy person who has no
physical traits of leadership in him, who thinks the only thing he was good
for, was his family's business. He continued in this delusion, until the signs
of greatness started unveiling.
1. The loss
2. The Sent One
3.
The Anointing.
4. The Prophecy.
5. Good news Carriers.
6.
Carriers of Favour (Blessings)
Prophet Samuel went further to unveil more
signs, which I categorised in this study as the sixth sign. 1 Samuel 10:3-4
Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of
Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel,
one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and
another carrying a bottle of wine: 4 And they will salute thee, and give
thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands.
In the
course of my pastoral services to God and humanity, I have encountered men and
women that nobody gives anything for free, from day to day, month to month and
year to year. Everything they own/get was gotten from their own struggles and
efforts. They don't understand the word “favour". But there are men
and women who enjoy favour, they always get blessings from people but still
they are never grateful, some end up being so proud as though they got those
blessings by their own strength. So as a result of that, they truncate their
greatness processes. They never knew that being favoured does not mean
greatness, rather it is a sign of greatness. It does not mean you have attained
greatness, it simply means you are destined for greatness. No matter the height
of favour you might have got in life, it should not deceive you, because those
are signs of greatness not greatness itself. Gods expectations is more than
whatever you might have attained.
Prophet Samuel told Saul that his path will
cross the paths of 3 men carrying some blessings and one of them will give him
2 loaves of bread and he will have to accept it. Take note of this that they
gave him the loaves not because he was a king, but because he would be a king.
Saul would have been the greatest fool if he had settled with the level of the
bread and miss the level of the throne. Imagine what would have happened to
Saul if he had allowed the fact that men who were richer than him with
possessions were saluting him and to honour him they have to give him part of
what they were carrying. But this is were many of us have settled. Don't
settle with your signs rather settle with your fulfillment.
Shalom!
Say
This Prayer Heavenly Father help me to understand that the favour/blessings
I enjoy, are signs of my greatness. Help to know that it is not because I have
arrived but because I am destined to be great.
Amen!
